Simple People’s Restaurant👉: This is a humble eatery with outstanding dishes but unremarkable decor. Most of the time, you’ll have to wait in line, but it’s definitely worth it. The honey-glazed chicken necks, shredded tri-vegetable stir-fry with beans, double-cooked pork slices, and shredded pork in fish-flavored sauce are all safe bets.
Lao Zhang Spicy Beef Noodles👉: Surprisingly, few people come here for the noodles; they’re mainly here for the stir-fried dishes. The small-plate dishes are perfect for female customers. The deep-fried pork strips, stir-fried potato, eggplant and green pepper, and pickled cabbage with vermicelli are all quite good, and the prices are really affordable.
Iron Pot Stew
Shanhetun Iron Pot Stew👉: It’s a well – known chain brand in Harbin. Just choose the branch closest to you if you want to go. The “Guochuliu” (a kind of pancake) is a must – order. Among the stews, I particularly like the sparerib and chicken feet stew.
Qinji Laotun Iron Pot Stew👉: This is a small basement restaurant. The owner is very friendly. Every time I go, I call in advance to have the stew prepared. The prices are relatively cheaper, but the environment is a bit rough.
Barbecue
Xiaotian Barbecue👉: It’s a hidden gem in Laodaowai. I discovered it by chance while taking a stroll in the evening. It has the nostalgic barbecue taste from childhood. Girls will probably love the chicken “zhangzhongbao”，and the sheep white tendons are also delicious. In summer, it’s great to sit outside and enjoy some small beers with the barbecue. In winter, a pot of boiled tripe will keep you warm!
Halal Private Barbecue👉: Go to the flagship store, which is located in a residential community. The sesame cakes there are to my taste, with sugar and sauce added, crispy and fragrant. The boiled tripe pot is also good, but there are often a lot of people, so you may need to wait in line.
Russian Cuisine
International Hotel👉: This building has a lot of history. Opposite it is the monument visited by President Putin. The dining environment here is excellent. It has received many leaders. There is a Russian performance starting at 5:30 p.m.
Black Ruby Western Restaurant👉: It’s a top – notch restaurant in the Aijian area. The environment, service, and food taste are all beyond reproach. If it’s a birthday or anniversary, you can make a reservation in advance and tell the waiter, and they will decorate the place to create a great atmosphere, which is perfect for taking pictures.

Pangjie Fast Food👉: It’s not “Pangsao Boxed Meals”! Nor is it “Pangjie Boxed Meals”! It’s called “Pangjie Fast Food”! It’s located on Liushun Street in Xiangfang District. For 12 yuan, you can have as much meat and vegetables as you like. Dishes like double – cooked pork slices, braised pork, and stir – fried sausage are all unlimited.
Ping’an Boxed Meals👉: It’s my favorite among the boxed meal restaurants on Tongda Street. For 14 yuan, you get one meat dish and unlimited vegetable dishes. I always choose the braised pork, as they give a generous portion of meat, and the vegetable dishes are stir – fried to perfection.
Malatang
Xinhongfu Malatang👉: It’s a truly sticky and glutinous malatang near Qunli Yuanda. The price is a bit higher, 22.8 yuan per jin, but it really smells great. There’s plenty of sesame paste, and barbecue seasoning is added. There’s air – conditioning in the restaurant, and I really love it.
Jizhiwei Clay Pot Noodles👉: It’s the star on the 6th floor of Jintaiyang behind Sophia Church. A regular bowl costs 16 yuan, and you can choose two types of noodles. You can also order the same one as what Wula La recommended. There’s also a lot of sesame paste, and it’s very fragrant.
